Damoda plans 2027 IPO filing as drone-show business expands overseas

Chinese drone-show specialist Damoda says it intends to file for an initial public offering in 2027 as international sales, automated deployment systems and autonomous-swarm research become larger parts of its business.

Damoda, the Shenzhen-based company behind drone shows in China and North America, plans to file for an initial public offering in 2027 as it seeks to expand its international operations. The company disclosed the plan at a recent media briefing reported by KrAsia.

The business supplies more than aircraft. Its international offering includes swarm-control software, automated deployment systems, training and operational support delivered through local partners. Damoda said equipment sales currently account for about 70% of its revenue, while its overseas business had grown to roughly 45 times its 2020 level by 2025.

From equipment sales to automated shows

Damoda began selling swarm systems outside China in 2020, initially to a customer in South Korea. The company now operates in more than 50 countries and lists LANG AG among its international customers. LANG AG bought 850 V4 units last December, according to the company’s account of its commercial activity.

The company’s product development has focused on reducing the labor and time required to prepare a performance. Its third-generation V3 system, introduced in 2022, allowed drones to launch from and return to transport cases. Damoda later added automatic charging and more precise autonomous returns to docking stations in its V4 system, which the company says does not require cameras for that return process.

Damoda says the V4 system can complete deployment, checks, takeoff and retrieval in about 60 seconds. By combining those steps with automated charging, the system is intended to reduce the need for on-site personnel during the setup and recovery of a show.

AI research and planned financing

The company is also developing what it describes as AI-powered drone swarms for autonomous low-altitude operations. The research covers sensing, navigation, path planning and obstacle avoidance. Damoda said it plans a demonstration in late 2026 or early 2027; that remains a planned event rather than a completed capability.

At the briefing, Damoda said it had completed several funding rounds during 2026 and was seeking additional investment before the end of the year. The company also said its valuation had increased almost tenfold since its first funding round in January 2025.

Damoda’s recent North American activity includes involvement by its US arm, Damoda America, in what the company described as the largest drone show staged in North America. Damoda was also behind a New Year’s Eve 2025 drone show in China that it described as the world’s largest. Those past events provide the commercial backdrop for the proposed listing, while the planned filing itself has not yet taken place.
